  • Applicants in this section generally are in one of the following categories:

          o Refugee Status
          o Asylum seeker with the right to work
          o Parent of an Irish child
          o Married to an Irish Citizen
     
  • Completed application forms must be returned to the college not later than Friday 19th August 2011.
  • Students who apply to the college after the closing date for applications will only have their applications processed if there are places available on the course of their choice.
  • Applicants will be invited to attend the college for a compulsory English language assessment. Applicants who have already obtained an internationally recognised language qualification namely I.E.L.T.S. or the Certificate in Proficiency offered by Cambridge will be required to submit a copy of their certification.
    Those with an I.E.L.T.S qualification should have an achieved an overall score of at least 6 and have passed all modules including: 

          o Listening
          o Academic Reading
          o Academic Writing
          o Speaking
     
  • Students who have successfully completed the Irish Leaving Certificate or an Irish Further Education Course are exempt from the language assessment.
  • Those with refugee status are not subject to tuition fees but must pay the college activity fee of €200 and the Department of Education PLC Programme Participant Contribution of €200.
  • Those who are parents of an Irish born child or those married to an Irish citizen, subject to confirmation by the Department of Justice, Immigration and Law Reform, may not be required to pay tuition fees but must pay the College activity fee of €200 and the Department of Education PLC Programme Participant Contribution of €200.
  • Asylum seekers with the right to work must pay the full Department of Education fee €3,653 plus the relevant course fee.
  • All applicants with special leave to remain in Ireland must produce appropriate documentation to verify that status. If such documentation is not produced with the application form then the application will not be processed
