City of Cork VEC is committed to practices which safeguard the welfare of students, young people and vulnerable adults. City of Cork VEC is registered with the Garda Central Vetting Unit and will be conducting Garda Vetting on students attending courses where it is identified that possible interaction with children and vulnerable adults is a feature of the course. Any information disclosed by the Garda Central Vetting Unit may be shared with the appropriate decision making personnel in prospective work experience organisations.
Please note that acceptance onto a course or obtaining its full award does not automatically guarantee progression to third level. Access
to higher-level links can also be dependant on the achievement of certain grades and the amount of places allocated. For further information, please consult your course co-ordinator.
We welcome applications from suitably qualified international candidates and we value the cultural diversity and richness this brings to the life of the college. All courses are conducted through English and candidates should demonstrate at interview that they are proficient in spoken English. Non EU nationals are charged a tuition fee determined by the Department of Education and Science.
Tuition fees must be paid in addition to standard course charges. Some categories of non-EU citizens resident in Ireland are exempt from tuition fees.
Due to their academic content, competence in English is essential for success in the courses offered by the College. Consequently, applicants from Non-English speaking countries must pass a Cork College of Commerce English Competence Test before attending interviews for a place on a course in the College. The Test will be held on Tuesday, 17th and Wednesday 18th August 2010 and all intending applicants must attend or they will not be considered for a place in the College. The last date for receipt of applications is Friday 6th 2010. To facilitate the language assessment, applications recived after the 6th August 2010, can not be processed.
We recommend you call into the College or check out our prospectus or simply telephone 021 4222100.
